The power supply is regulated by a thermostat which provides electricity when outside temperatures drop below approximately 15 degrees celsius . Additionally, the electrical current supplied to each outlet alternates on and off every ten minutes. This energy conservation design is more than sufficient for maintaining easy winter engine start-ups.
It is important to note that each outlet is provided with enough electricity for most vehicle block heaters, but interior car heaters will overload the circuit. To avoid tripped breakers, connect your block heater with an extension cord that is in ideal condition.
